look at me*

Il progetto Look at me è una collezione di foto trovate per la strada o in una scatola comprata in un mercato delle pulci.Il progetto inizia con delle foto trovate da Frederic Bonn e Zoe Deleu in una strada di Parigi nel 1998. Nel 2001 Frederic Bonn crea il sito Look at me ed incomincia ad ingrandire la collezione con foto mandategli da altre persone. Ora la collezione conta 612 fotografie.
Penso che la bellezza di questo progetto stia nel fatto che delle fotografie buttate via da qualcuno riacquistino dignità e nuova vita in questo progetto di memoria collettiva.
Dal punto di vista estetico,poi, c'è una bellezza nascosta nelle foto vecchie:i vestiti, le vecchie città ed anche la stessa carta di stampa ed i colori sbiaditi parlano di vita.

Look at me project is a collection of photos found on the streets, or stacked in a box, bought cheap at a flea market. The project started with a few photos found by Frederic Bonn and Zoe Deleu in a Paris street in 1998. Frederic Bonn built the site in 2001 and started taking submission from other people. Now the collection contains 612 photos. I think the beauty of this project is that photos thrown away by someone regain dignity and life in a project of collective memory. Moreover from the aesthetic point of view, there's a hidden beauty behind old photos: the clothes (urban clothes as well as country clothes), old environments, the papers and their faded colours talk about life.
